Direct Relief International runs with the support of more than 400 volunteers annually. These are a handful of the people, from students to seniors, who have been instrumental in assisting our Haiti response efforts, as well as ongoing day-to-day activities. Equipping Midwives Traveling to Haiti

Direct Relief program officer Matt MacCalla and volunteer Ingrid Lindgren walk us through the packing of a handcarry set to go to a team of Indonesian midwives traveling to Haiti and arriving next week. The midwives, from Yayasan Bumi Sehat, were assisted by Direct Relief in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, and are now doing their part to help another country affected by tragedy.
