American Riviera Wine Auction Raises $220,000 for Direct Relief USA

The Santa Barbara County Vintners' Foundation presented a check for $220,000 to Direct Relief last night, in a ceremony commemorating the donation to our USA programs. The donation comes from the proceeds of the Vintners' Express - American Riviera Wine Auction in February, which was a huge success. Direct Relief is immensely grateful to the SBCVF and all the vintners for their unwavering support.

The Santa Barbara County Vintners’ Foundation presents The American Riviera Wine Auction – Vintners’ Express on Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. The event is a benefit for Direct Relief International, specifically for the Direct Relief USA program. See the event catalog - including live and silent auction items!
At 5:30 pm, guests will enjoy the fine wines of Beckmen Vineyards and delectable hors d’oeuvres from Root 246, Hitching Post, Hungry Cat, Wine Cask, the Ballard Inn, Seagrass, and Bouchon. An array of silent auction items will be available for bidding.
At 7:00 pm, guests will dine on epicurean-style, travel-inspired comfort food from nationally recognized Chef Jeff Olsson of New West Catering. The live auction will conclude the event, featuring travel packages, fine wines, and other specialty items.

The theme of the event is “Homeward Bound” and the Vintners’ Foundation is proud to celebrate the work that Direct Relief does to provide medicine and supplies to more than 1,000 partner clinics in 50 states, serving more than 9 million people. Proceeds from the event will provide medical aid to people in need through Direct Relief USA.
