Direct Relief International is fortunate to work with skilled, experienced, and dedicated clinics who serve their patients with kindness and dignity. We are pleased to pass on these gracious notes, which express the thankfulness of our clinics and their patients, to our donors who truly make our work possible. Bethel Lutheran Free Medical Clinic 2521 Pass Road Biloxi, MS 39531
The Bethel Lutheran Free Medical Clinic provides, at no cost, competent, accessible, timely, and compassionate health care. Services include primary care, health screenings, basic medication, spiritual and emotional comfort, as well as health education. After Hurricane Katrina, Direct Relief International provided a $49,800 grant allowing Bethel Lutheran Free Medical Clinic to purchase medical equipment and supplies, diagnostic tests, and the salary for a medical administrative position. In addition, Direct Relief continues to support the Bethel Lutheran Free Medical Clinic with shipments of product and supplies totaling over $28,000. "What wonderful news! We are so very grateful that Direct Relief International has funded our proposal to improve health services in coast Mississippi, an area so devastated by the winds and surge of Hurricane Katrina. This support will improve the medical services that we provide! We have been truly amazed by all of the compassionate people who have reached out to our fellow residents in need by giving of their time, their talents and their treasure. Your endorsement of our efforts truly lifts us up as the past year has been difficult for all of us physically and emotionally... I wish all who are responsible for contributing to these funds to our clinic could spend a few hours with us speaking with residents as they seek medical care. Your supporters would know how very, very grateful the people of south Mississippi are for their compassion and their generosity."

Franklin Primary Health Center, Inc., Mobile, AL | Mendocino Community Health Clinics
333 Laws Ave.
Ukiah, CA 95482 From its beginnings in 1992 as a solution to the lack of healthcare in Mendocino, to its expansion to three sites handling 600 patients a day, Mendocino Community Health Clinics has always been faithful to its mission of providing access to excellent healthcare services for the most vulnerable people in the community.
For the past three years. Direct Relief has provided nine shipments which included prescription drugs, primary care supplies, and personal care products and supplies to this health center community. "Direct Relief International, thanks for all your assistance. Please note the following: Through this program, we can offer our patients the medications they need when they can't afford to pay for them and are not eligible for any third party reimbursement. For many patients who are new to our county or uninsured, we are the only local option for this type of pharmacy assistance program. With the worsening economy, many payers are reducing benefits including coverage for routine maintenance medication. In our community with wide-spread poverty and significant rates of chronic disease, this is a tremendous hardship on our patients. Your donation is of great benefit to our organization and to the underserved people throughout our community in rural Lake and Mendocino County. Thank you again for your efforts on our behalf."
Catherine Rada, Vice President Resource Acquisition Mendocino Community Health Clinics, Inc., Mendocino, CA | Los Angeles Mission Community Clinic
311 Winston St.
Los Angeles, CA 90013 Los Angeles experienced budget cutbacks, leading to a healthcare crisis in 1995. Out of that crisis, the Los Angeles Mission Community Clinic was formed in an unlikely place. A Skid Row "crack house" hotel located across the street from the Los Angeles Mission was purchased and remodeled and in March of 1996 the Los Angeles Mission Community Clinic was officially licensed and opened its doors to the uninsured and homeless of Los Angeles, providing compassionate, comprehensive medical and dental services to anyone in need. In 2004 LAMCC became a Federally Qualified Health Center. This designation brought additional funds and that, along with the aid of the Los Angeles Mission, private support, and Direct Relief International, the clinic now sees 7,500 patients annually.
"Thank you Direct Relief! We are a free clinic currently funded by donations and grants serving the downtown Los Angeles Skid Row area. Nearly all of our patient population is uninsured. Most are living on the streets, in single room occupancy hotels, or in missions in the area. We are able to give our patients medications free of charge from our dispensary. However, at times we are limited due to lack of funds. The donations we received from Direct Relief enable us to continue to treat the many eye and ear infections we see weekly in our population. Thank you again!"

Los Angeles, CA 90027 Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. recognizes the value of receiving health care in one’s own language. Since 1986 APHCV has provided healthcare and education in seven Asian Pacific Islander languages as well as Spanish and English to the growing ethnic populations in Los Angeles. They offer a wide range of services from family planning to primary care to health education and outreach. Pfizer’s donations will go towards offering comprehensive healthcare to many in need.
"It is of tremendous help to our patients. 85 percent of our patients are working poor; unable to obtain medications. Many patients we see are without the means to help themselves try to do without them, thereby jeopardizing their health. One of my elderly hypertensive patients was taking a daily prescribed medication one day a week under the illusion that a little medication was better than none. With your donations, she now she has a chance of avoiding a stroke. Without these medications, patients would suffer preventable debility and possibly earlier disability and death. So again, we thank you for your generous gifts that make care of these deserving persons possible."

Houston, TX 77002 Healthcare for the Homeless of Houston was formed through an initial partnership between Baylor College of Medicine and SEARCH Homeless Project. After several years of providing medical care to Houston’s homeless population, the need to provide a broader spectrum of services became evident. In 1999, HHH began providing a community-oriented primary care model that included psychiatry and health counseling, dentistry, podiatry, TB testing, vision assistance, and health education, information, and referral.
HHH now operates two clinic sites with operating hours outside of normal business hours to cater to the working homeless. "We are pleased to acknowledge the generous in-kind donation of medical supplies which arrived this week. The ability to select items that our homeless population can really use has been a great feature of the donation process. Thank you for the work you do in identifying resources and matching them with underserved populations and safety net providers. We are extremely grateful for your generosity. On behalf of the homeless men, women, and children in Houston that will be touched through your donation, thank you."
