FedEx Provides Support to Hurricane Sandy Relief

FedEx Corp. announced this week that the company is donating $50,000 cash and $100,000 in-kind transportation services to Direct Relief for Hurricane Sandy relief and recovery efforts. The donations are part of a generous $1.2 million commitment in support of a handful of humanitarian organizations providing emergency relief.

The company has a long history of supporting disaster survivors worldwide, and often invests in emergency preparedness and response efforts through services of Direct Relief.

FedEx has provided financial and in-kind transportation services to Direct Relief for nearly a decade, including disaster response activities after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, 2007 Southern California wildfires, and investment in hurricane preparedness program in Latin America.

The generous financial contribution from FedEx helps Direct Relief to continue meeting the health and medical needs of those impacted by the storm along the East Coast and in the Caribbean. The in-kind donation of the transportation will allow Direct Relief to make otherwise expensive shipments of donated items to those most in need.

Direct Relief expresses sincere thanks to FedEx Corps, once again, for their incredible support of emergency disaster services.
