Emergency Vehicles

Ukraine

The Ukrainian government and local organizations have identified ambulances and other emergency transport vehicles as a top priority to ensure access to emergency care services.

The Ukrainian military requisitioned hundreds of ambulances from hospitals and public emergency services at the start of the war.

As a result, urgent cases are being transported in taxis, buses, and personal vehicles.

In December, Direct Relief announced $800,000 in grants to purchase ten ambulances for non-profits in Ukraine, in addition to 13 already purchased.
