Operational Update: 21 Million Doses of Medication Shipped to 13 Countries Over Past Seven Days

Over the past seven days, Direct Relief has delivered 317 shipments of requested medical aid to 42 U.S. states and territories and 13 countries worldwide.

The shipments contained 21.2 million defined daily doses of medication, including prenatal vitamins, cancer treatment drugs, chronic disease management prescriptions, rare disease therapies, behavioral health medications, and ongoing Covid-19 support such as therapies for hospitalized patients, oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters, and personal protective equipment, including gowns, goggles, gloves, masks and face shields.

Last week, a shipment of temperature-sensitive therapies for Covid-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms arrived in Ukraine. Direct Relief shipped these medicines in coordination with Ukraine’s Ministry of Health for use in health facilities responding to the pandemic.

In the U.S., Direct Relief delivered 284 shipments weighing 7,642 lbs and containing 656,618 doses of medications.

Globally, Direct Relief this week shipped more than 20.5 defined daily doses of medication totaling 87,278 lbs.

Since January 1, 2021, Direct Relief has delivered 17.7K shipments to 2,238 partner organizations in 55 U.S. states and territories and 94 countries. These shipments contained 187.5M defined daily doses of medication valued at $1.7B (wholesale) and totaled 7.3M lbs.
