As Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Development, Kerri Murray works to help Direct Relief expand its ability to help more people live healthier lives. She brings 15 years of experience in advocacy, communications, and marketing to her role, as well as a strong focus on healthcare issues.
Murray joined Direct Relief in 2010, following a successful 13 years at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pharmaceuticals, where she held marketing and sales roles in several therapy areas critical to the people Direct Relief serves around the world, including anti-infective agents, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and biologics.
Most recently, Murray served as a senior director of cardiovascular marketing at GSK, where she worked extensively with patient advocacy organizations to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease. At GSK, Murray was honored for her contributions to the “I Can” Patient Diabetes Management Program.
A native of Connecticut, Murray began her career in public service as an aide in the Rhode Island State House on a U.S. congressional campaign. She also served as a lobbyist for the Providence, Rhode Island-based nonprofit Save the Bay.
Her commitment to service includes volunteering with the Big Sister program and as an English-language instructor with Progreso Latino, a literacy-focused nonprofit in Rhode Island. Murray holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College in Rhode Island.
