When republishing:

  • Maintain any tagline at the bottom of the story.
  • With Direct Relief's permission, news publications can make changes such as localizing the content for a particular area, using a different headline, or shortening story text. To confirm edits are acceptable, please check with Direct Relief by clicking this link.
  • If new content is added to the original story — for example, a comment from a local official — a note with language to the effect of the following must be included: "Additional reporting by [reporter and organization]."
  • If republished stories are shared on social media, Direct Relief appreciates being tagged in the posts:

Mylan

Partnerships for Humanity

Mylan provides lifesaving therapies for both emergency and on-going humanitarian programs

Mylan, one of the world’s largest generics and specialty pharmaceutical companies, is a longtime partner of Direct Relief. In addition to regular support of healthcare providers across the US and around the world, Mylan has been an integral partner in Direct Relief’s emergency response efforts, including but not limited to: the earthquakes in Haiti, Hurricane Sandy, the Ebola outbreaks, the Nepal earthquake, the on-going Syrian refugee crisis, Hurricanes Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico, and COVID-19 response.

Importantly, Mylan provides regular donations of essential, chronic disease, and specialty medicines that allow for healthcare strengthening in many of the poorest countries of the world, which often lack access to required therapies for their underserved populations.  In addition, Mylan has played an integral role in Direct Relief’s global COVID-19 response, by providing large quantities of required antibiotics that are being used to treat ICU patients suffering from respiratory infections, pneumonia, and septic shock.

“Mylan has a long-standing history of partnering with Direct Relief that is driven by our shared passion to provide access to medicines, especially in moments of crisis. Direct Relief’s urgent and comprehensive response to fighting COVID-19 is inspiring, and we are proud to contribute to their efforts,” said Mylan Chief Commercial Officer Tony Mauro.
