Direct Relief works with an incredible network of healthcare providers who provide fistula repair surgery at hospitals in Africa and Asia. Medicines and surgical supplies delivered by Direct Relief helped support over 3,000 life restoring fistula repair surgeries provided at 22 hospitals in 15 countries in 2013.
In Malawi, the Bwaila Fistula Center in Lilongwe is using supplies from Direct Relief to deliver care to more than 275 women in 2013.
In Kenya, Gynocare Fistula Center was able to open their doors after receiving a donation of equipment and supplies from Direct Relief and has rapidly grown to the be the largest provider of fistula repair surgery in the country.
In Somaliland, Direct Relief helped facilitate the construction of a surgical operating theater at the Edna Adan Hospital in partnership with The Fistula Foundation, and continues to provide routine donations of medical supplies to equip the theater and wards.
